Bonner led Wesleyan to a pair of road wins this week, including a non-conference victory over Williams, 72-67, in overtime. He posted a 22-point, five-rebound performance against the Ephs, netting six points in overtime and converting clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the win. He added 21 points, on 7-of-10 shooting, with six rebounds, two assists and two steals in an 88-68 win at Emmanuel.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Maddie Bledsoe Wesleyan University
Senior • Forward • Newton, Mass.
Bledsoe was named MVP of the Courtyard by Marriott Tournament hosted by the Cardinals. She averaged a double-double of 14.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in two wins. She totaled 18 points and 21 rebounds with three assists in an 88-76 win over Westfield State in the title game. She added 11 points, 5-for-5 shooting, seven caroms and four assists in 17 minutes in a win over Maine-Presque Isle.
Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week
Sean Lawrence Colby College
Junior • Goaltender • Granite Bay, Calif.
Lawrence allowed just three goals in two wins over rival Bowdoin and earned Peter Schuh Memorial Trophy MVP honors. In a 6-1 victory at Bowdoin, he made 24 of his 32 saves in the last two periods of the game which was tied 1-1 after the first period. He was also the key player in a 4-2 win in Waterville, Maine. He made 34 saves, including 27 stops in the final two periods in a game that was tied 1-1 heading into the third period.
Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week
Andrea Rockey Hamilton College
Junior • Forward • Morgantown, W.V.
Rockey played a part in three of the Continentals’ five goals in two wins against Colby. Rockey scored 40 seconds into overtime in a 1-0 win on Friday. She assisted on Hamilton’s first goal and tallied the second in a 4-0 victory on Saturday to help Hamilton complete the sweep.
Men's Squash Performer of the Week
Sam Piller Connecticut College
Junior • Charlottesville, Va.
Piller nearly completed a comeback from 2-1 down against Amherst at the sixth position (12-10, 2-11, 11-7, 6-11, 11-3) before sweeping his opponent from Northeastern (11-3, 11-5, 11-4).
Women's Squash Performer of the Week
Rachel Windreich Tufts University
First Year • Greenwich, Conn.
Windreich won both of her matches last weekend to improve to 6-1 on the season. She swept her opponent from William Smith (11-2, 11-1, 11-3) before clinching the deciding match against Wesleyan (7-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-7).
Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Dan Williams Bowdoin College
Junior • Westport, Conn.
Williams broke his own school record in the 1650 freestyle by clocking a time of 15:58.16, touching the wall nearly one minute ahead of the next finisher at the Maine State Championships. Williams also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:41.79.
Women's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Laura Westphal Williams College
First Year • Northville, Mich.
Westphal won all four of her events against Boston College. Her wins included times of 1:52.86 in the 200 freestyle, 52.86 in the 100 freestyle, 5:07.64 in the 500 freestyle and a 400 freestyle relay split of 52.52.
