Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Release #14
HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst junior forward Courtney Hanlon (Fullerton, Calif.) and Trinity senior goaltender Isabel Iwachiw (New York, N.Y.) shared NESCAC Player of the Week honors for March 8, 2010. Hanlon tallied the championship-clinching goal at 5:57 of overtime on Sunday, propelling the Jeffs to the 2010 NESCAC title over Trinity, 2-1.Iwachiw helped the Bantams reach the final of the NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Championship for the first time in program history, combining for 93 saves and a .969 save percentage over the weekend.

Amherst Wins Women's Ice Hockey Title in Overtime, 2-1
AMHERST, Mass. – The top-seeded Amherst College women’s ice hockey team played host to No. 2 Trinity this afternoon at Orr Rink in the 2010 NESCAC Championship title game. Trinity scored the opening goal of the game in the first period, but Amherst forced overtime and took home the program’s third NESCAC crown 2-1 on Courtney Hanlon’s (Fullerton, Calif.) game-winner in the extra session.

Amherst Outlasts Bowdoin 3-2 in Overtime in Women's Ice Hockey Semifinals
AMHERST, Mass. – First year forward Geneva Lloyd (Calgary, Alberta) scored the game-winning goal at 11:14 of overtime off a face-off draw to give the top-seeded Amherst College women’s ice hockey team a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Bowdoin in the semifinals of the NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Championship at Orr Rink in Amherst, Mass. The Lord Jeffs rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period to force overtime and will play the winner of the Trinity/Middlebury game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Trinity Edges Middlebury, 2-1 in Marathon Four-Overtime Women's Ice Hockey Semifinal
AMHERST, Mass. - Sophomore forward Payson Sword (Princeton, N.J.) scored the game-winning goal 3:49 into an NCAA Division III women's-record fourth overtime on a rebound following a breakaway to lead Trinity to a 2-1 win over Middlebury in the semifinals of the 2010 NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Championship on Saturday evening at Amherst's Orr Rink. Trinity will play the host Amherst Lord Jeffs, who edged Bowdoin, 3-2, in overtime in today's earlier semifinal, in the NESCAC Championship tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
